So let’s be clear about the difference between an Assigment and a Resale. Keep in mind that you are not the registered owner of the property you are selling since it is still under construction. In spite of the fact that it has already been completed and is currently occupied, if the final closing has not yet been completed, you do not own it.
Ownership changes hands from the developer to you at the final closing. A sale after this final closing is no longer an Assignment Sale, but a resale.
